I build my own vanilla version of an LTN (LTN mod if you don't know) system for example.īut the very best advice is literally just play it. As others have already said, make a blueprint for a train station, you will need it. I personally like to build in cityblocks but do it however you like. Play the game like vanilla, build a main bus until you've launchee your first rocket, sphagetify (real word) your base until you have an okay-ish tier of assemblers/machines etc. So the best advice I can give you is the following: No matter how big you buile, it will be too small. I can guarantee you, if you haven't watch any playthrough (and even if you have, but I recommend not to) you will start a new save or at least rebuild your base at least 100 times. So I consider me somewhat experienced in SE (~400-500hrs SE playtime which isn't even near experienced enough but anyways). So what are best practices? Do most people just have 1 way tracks that make big loops? Should I bother staying with feeding my main bus this way or should I attempt a city block design? Any YouTube videos that are helpful? I know I can just keep pushing further east, but how would you tackle this?
#MAIN BUS FACTORIO PATCH#
The iron and steel smelting area is east of my base, but there’s a giant patch of iron ore to the far south west.
#MAIN BUS FACTORIO HOW TO#
They were working fine until I started creating intersections of other tracks and the 2 iron ore trains would get gridlocked at an intersection.Īnother question I have is how to manage going from one side of the map to another. I’ve already run into issues with feeding my iron/steel outpost with multiple trains. I know my first issue is the bi-directional tracks. Basically I just have single, bi-directional train routes going from the ore patches to drop off warehouses at the bottom of the base, and 1 outpost where I smelt iron and steel. One thing I’m struggling with is organizing train routes from distant ore To feed my bus.

K2 I did a main bus but once I got to immersite I basically just created random assemblers and had bots start feeding everything. My first vanilla run was classic spaghetti. I know I have a lot more to learn before I dive into that though. So I just finished K2 and want to try K2SE. Look both ways before you cross the tracks. The only significance is life, which leads to the further wisdom. Every assembler is but a visitor to where it resides. Let your anxiety wash away as you perceive that every belt placed can be moved. Most games punish you for building, demolishing and rebuilding. Your mistakes have no cost but time, and the deconstruction planner even reduces that cost.
